The Blazers sailed to an easy victory over highly ranked Blue Valley Southwest (Class 5A), 10-3 on May 8.
In the first inning, Gardner Edgerton got its offense started, with Dawson Williams grounding out, scoring one run.
The Blazers notched four runs in the second inning. The offense in the inning was led by Clayton Anderson, Dawson Williams and Logan Groh: all driving in runs in the inning.
Jayden Good was the winning pitcher for the Blazers. Good surrendered three runs on five hits over four innings, striking out one. Andrew McCarthy, Groh and Eli Jensen all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team toward the victory.
The Gardner Edgerton varsity totaled 12 hits. Dylan Butash, Austin Buie, Anderson and Groh all had multiple hits for the Blazers. Groh, Anderson, Buie and Butash each managed two hits to lead their team.
