USD 231 schools closed for Chiefs Superbowl victory

USD 231 is closing schools for Wednesday, Feb. 15 in order to allow their students, families and staffs to enjoy the Chiefs Superbowl LVII victory win, celebration and parade in downtown Kansas City.

Ben Boothe, director of community relations, said all spring parent teacher conferences and scheduled activities will be rescheduled. Thursday, Feb. 16 will proceed as scheduled.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, Dr. Jody Marshall, director of human resources, sent out a letter informing parents and teachers of the possibility.

The Chiefs won the Superbowl against the Philadelphia Eagles 38 to 35 Sunday, Feb. 12. This was their third Superbowl appearance and second win in four years.
