Katherine Huston, 102, of Olathe, KS, passed away July 5, 2022 at Cedar Lake Village.

Katherine was born Dec. 6, 1919 in Rosedale, Kan. to Clinton M. and Katherine M. McGrew. She grew up in Rosedale and married Glen T. Huston on Jan. 24, 1942 in Kansas City, Kan. They moved to Overland Park after their marriage, and then moved to Gardner in 1980. Katherine was a homemaker and an outgoing person who would help anyone in need. Her passion and joy have always been family, friends and church. She and Glen helped create wonderful memories for many over the years. Katherine will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Glen, in 2013; grandson Steve and granddaughter Barbara. Katherine is survived by her son Jerry Huston (Pat), Mission, Kan and daughter Nancy Howell (Mike), Olathe, Kan; four grandchildren: Rich, Brenda, David and Nick and nine great-grandchildren: Reagan, Alicia, Abby, Lucia, Felicity, Mary, Matthew, Alivia and Elliot.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2022 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main, Gardner, Kan. Burial follows at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Overland Park, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Arrangements: Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111.
