Edgerton hosts housing advocacy program

Edgerton has been selected to host a Community Housing Advocate Training program later this spring.

The opportunity is open to community members who want to learn more about addressing housing issues in the city.

The free training will be provided in partnership with United Community Services and the Johnson County Health Equity Network in April and May.

The training program consists of six, two-hour sessions which will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to advocate for housing needs in Edgerton. The goal is to help people find common ground when addressing community- wide housing challenges. Participants will receive a stipend for each session, and food and childcare will be provided.

City officials said CHAT brings together residents with diverse knowledge and experiences to be a part of the housing solutions conversation.
