For the fifth year in a row, Kansas 3rd District representative Sharice Davids will be collecting and distributing Valentine’s Day cards for veterans and their caregivers.

Residents can mail cards to Davids’ office in Kansas City or email a message to KS03valentinesforvets@ gmail. com from now through Monday, Feb. 13. She will deliver the cards and messages to Kansas veterans and caregivers at the Lenexa VA.

“The Valentines for Vets program offers us a way for us to show our appreciation for those who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe,” Davids said. “I hope many of our neighbors here in Kansas will choose to participate in this heartwarming tradition, as I know our office looks forward to delivering these messages of gratitude to veterans and their families each year.”

The previous four years the program has collected and distributed hundreds of handwritten messages for local veterans.
