Grace Baptist Church showed their appreciation for the Gardner Edgerton USD 231 School District’s First Student employees by providing a free breakfast on March 31.
Nearly 100 of the school district’s bus drivers were recognized during the event.
“Our staff and community impact team had a blast serving and chatting with those who attended our appreciation breakfast,” Brandon Champagne, Grace Baptist Church worship and community impact pastor, said. “We appreciate all you do for our kids and community. Thank you for helping our kids feel safe and loved.”
Chef Greg Reynolds of The Kindness Kitchen prepared a meal of breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit.
Tim Miller with American Family Insurance, The Warren Place, Adams Pro Photo, Southwind Advertising, Price Chopper, Walmart and Chapman Electric sponsored the event.
Additionally, Gieringers Orchard, Enright Gardens, Perkins, Dominos, My Play Cafe, Mooses BBQ, Wildfire Nutrition, In Full Bloom, Big O Tires, The Split End, Livi and Elle and Freddy’s donated prizes and giveaways.
“Thank you for helping us honor some of the city’s finest,” Champagne said.
