Debbie Kay Kimmey

Debbie Kay Kimmey, 64, Gardner, Kansas passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home, after a year long battle of Glioblastoma brain cancer. There will be a celebration of life at Debbie’s home on December 10, 2022, openhouse style, from 1pm-4pm. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome. com Debbie was born March 15, 1958 in Red Bluff, California to James Kenneth and Pauline Gertrude (Van Gilder) Irey. She graduated from Del Campo High School, Fair Oaks, California. Debbie attended cosmetology school. She owned and operated Deb’s Hair Design in Olathe for 25 years. Debbie loved what she did and had a large close1knit clientele, that all became lifelong friends of hers. Debbie also loved travel, music, wine and savory food. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Madison Smith and husband Patrick, Gardner, Kansas; sister Vicki Irey, Piedmont, Oklahoma; brother Russell Skidmore, Grants Pass, Oregon and two grandchildren.

James Richard Wilson passed away Sunday October 30, 2022 at the age of 82. He was currently living at Homestead of Eudora, but called Edgerton, Kansas home for much of his life. Most people knew him as Richard, but he was also known as Dixie, J.R. and Dick to his friends, family and work colleagues.

Ruth Ann Lundy

Ruth Ann Lundy, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Ruth was born on January 11, 1946, in Winfield, KS, the daughter of Oscar and Blanche Lawson. Ruth worked for the Gardner Police Department for 27 ½ years when she retired on August 30, 2013. Ruth married her High School sweetheart, Roger Lundy on March 7, 1964, in Burden, KS. They were blessed with a wonderful son, Mike (Michael). Ruth spent all her extra time taking Mike to the batting cages and watching Mike play baseball. Aside from baseball, Mike and Ruth spent many hours together sharing their passion for horses. Ruth spent her life riding horses and even when she stopped riding, she still spent her time feeding and grooming them. Those horses loved her as much as she loved them. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Oscar and Blanche Lawson. Ruth is survived by her husband, Roger, of the home and Mike Lundy (Darlene) of Edgerton, KS; Mary Jo (Lloyd) Stuckey of Winfield, KS; John ( Judy) Lawson of Burden, KS and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves 2 Granddaughters, Lauren and Reagan, which she loved more than anything. She spent many hours watching them play softball and attending all their school events. Ruth will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She had the biggest heart and such love for everyone. Graveside services will be held at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, KS this Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 10:00 am. Charles “Buz” Wesley Busby, Jr., 79, Gardner, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Overland Park Regional Hospital, Overland Park, Kansas. Graveside service with Military Honors will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Gardner Cemetery, Gardner Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneral. com Charles was born July 1, 1943 in Highland Park, Illinois to Charles Wesley Busby, Sr. and Nora Ann (Bodenheimer) Busby. He grew up in Olathe and graduated from Olathe North High School in 1962. Charles was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving four years. While his air carrier was docked in Vietnam, he attended a church service held in a tent and was saved. He married Pamela Kay Pinkley in Olathe on March 20, 1971. They moved to Gardner in 1973. Charles drove a truck for LaFarge Concrete, Kansas City, Missouri for over 30 years. He also worked for O’Reilly’s in Gardner. Charles loved classic cars and trucks, especially his 1982 special Chevy Truck. He loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs.
