When I saw the headline What Your Little Finger Says About Your Personality on my internet news feed, I thought, “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.” Then I clicked on it anyway.
Local residents came out to New Century Airport to participate in the 3rd Annual Law Dog 5k, 10k and Powerlifting event on July 9 at 7:30 am. Mayor Todd Winters and the Gardner Edgerton High School Cross Country Running Team were some of the participants.
Gardner Gold Special Olympics held a fundraiser Saturday, July 3 outside of Cosentino’s Price Chopper. The rain didn’t stop people from purchasing $800 of hotdog lunch meals. A manager from Cosentino’s said it was the most a fundraiser outside their store had made so far this year. Gardner Gold is a Parks and Rec sponsored organization that anyone can join. Friday July 8 Johnson County Library is showing the 1971 Disney classic “Bedknobs and Broomsticks” at Cornerstone Park, (215 N. Center St.) as part of its Movies in the Park series.
Lisa Smith and her family were one of 60 vendors on the front lawn of King of Kings Lutheran Church, 306 E Madison for their Craft Fair, Saturday June 25. The event from 9am to 2pm also hosted food with an ice cream truck, a shaved ice stand, baked goods and hot dogs and burgers.
